Pursuing an MD and PhD in Neuroscience at UTMB alongside a PhD in Biomedicine, Neuroscience and Advanced Diagnostics at the University of Palermo. He uses deep learning and computer vision to develop new tools for interventional radiology.

Haroon Dossani

Haroon Dossani

Rising PGY-1 in Interventional Radiology

Haroon Dossani is a rising PGY-1 in Interventional Radiology. He completed medical school at UTMB, where he served as a founding member of the VIR Interest Group, was an active volunteer at St. Vincent's student-run clinic, and spearheaded multiple mentorship initiatives. His research interests extend across multiple IR disciplines, including PAD, venous disease, percutaneous transhepatic cholangioscopy, spinal cord stimulation, practice building, and quality improvement.

Bassel Ibrahim is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). He is the current co-president of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Interest Group (VIRIG) at UTMB and primary student representative for the Vascular and Interventional Radiology department.

Ali A. Alqahwachi, MD

Vascular and Interventional Radiology PGY1

Dr. Alqahwachi is an Interventional Radiology resident at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He received his medical training through the University of Sharjah and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi program. His professional interests center on minimally invasive, image-guided therapies, with a particular passion for pain management interventions and musculoskeletal procedures. He also enjoys the breadth of outpatient interventional radiology, including embolization therapies, vascular interventions, venous disease treatment, and men's and women's health procedures.
